Janitorial Services, Inc & Arbeit, Inc (JSI), a janitorial contractor located in Cleveland, Ohio, has agreed to pay $315,000 to settle disability discrimination charges filed with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The EEOC's investigation revealed that JSI failed to hire a class of applicants for various positions because of their disability. The EEOC obtained evidence indicating that JSI rejected disabled applicants for positions based on alleged safety concerns without conducting individualized assessments, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
